Prof. Marko Pavliha, who was last year also elected Secretary General of CMI, has been active in the Slovene Association since its establishment in 1992. In 1997 he was elected President , a position which is covering still nowadays.
Prof. Marko Pavliha is the leading authority in the field of transport and insurance law in Slovenia who has gained also admirable international reputation. He is the head of the Maritime and Transport Law Department, University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transportation; visiting professor at IMO – International Maritime Law Institute and at the Queensland University, T.C. Beirne School of Law, Australia.; Expert of IOC/ABE – LOS (UNESCO); president of the Maritime Law Association of Slovenia; member of the Judicial Council of the Republic of Slovenia; titulary member of the CMI and expert of the International Maritime Organization (IMO Roster of Experts and Consultants). We are more than confident that the entrance of Prof. Pavliha in the Government as Minister of Transport will contribute to define Slovenia not just as a »country on the Sunny Side of the Alps« but also as a Mediteranean Maritime State. Therefore, good luck..
